Former rodeo cowboy Tom Oar has lived in the remote Yaak Valley of Northwest Montana for almost half a century, far removed from the hustle of modern life. With his wife Nancy by his side, he makes his living by trapping, tanning hides, and creating unique primitive crafts from materials found in nature. Tom and Nancy live in the same log cabin they built by hand more than forty years ago, and have no intention of ever leaving. Now in his 80s, every day in this rugged landscape presents new challenges. As time catches up with him, Tom continues the fight to live wild and free in the mountains.
