Marty Meierotto

Deep in the interior of Alaska, hundreds of miles from civilization, trapper and bush pilot Marty Meierotto spends every winter living in a primitive one-room log cabin. During the brief daylight hours, he travels many miles by snowmobile, braving sub-zero temperatures to set and check his traps. Marty came to Alaska in the early 1980s to be a full-time trapper, and soon learned how to fly a bush plane to travel farther into the vast wilderness of the Last Frontier. A husband and father, Marty is passing down his adventurous spirit and knowledge of the outdoors to his daughter, Noah, an aspiring pilot and Alaskan explorer in her own right.
